Hello, hello everyone!! It has been quite the busy week! Monday I had begun sewing a top from the collection I sketched up (end results to come!). Tuesday and Wednesday I was given the days off as I had grandparents that came to visit. We went to a ball game, did shopping and a nice dinner. It was great to have a couple days off; however, I was eager to get back to the studio!
Yesterday we begun the minute I walked in the door. Christopher had a photography session where a photographer and art director came to the studio to set up a brief shoot for an upcoming Minnesota magazine issue. They wanted to capture the essence of the studio as well as some sewing action!
We had an hour to do this little photo sesh and then we were out the door to a radio station in St. Louis Park, MN for an interview. Just to give you a little background information, there was a Project Runway Viewing Party last night Christopher was going to attend as well as sign autographs, etc. He did an interview at the KDWB 101.3 radio station to help promote this event. I had never been in a recording studio before but it was really neat to witness how the process worked. The short interview was done in a matter of minutes and then we were out the door again!
Getting back to the studio, we did a bit more sewing to finish up the day.
Today was another busy day! We started out sewing for a short period of time and then left for yet another meeting! In the beginning of my internship, I had gone with Christopher to Twin Cities Live where he did a design challenge. We went back for Twin Cities Live today, but this time so Christopher could talk about the polka dot trend! This came about after Princess Kate came out from the hospital wearing a polka dot dress; same trend also worn by Princess Diana after she had given birth. The link below will give the short five minute segment co-hosted by Christopher:

For the spirit of the occasion, I too decided to rock some polka dots:)
I bought the pants from White House Black Market (one of my jobs in retail), the white button down is from Express (a past job) and the black croc print heels are from Nine West.
More to come of my own style in future blog posts:)
