Summer Internship: Day 47

I am getting to that final small stretch in my internship.  34 hours remain in what I must complete for my apparel merchandising summer course.  It is bittersweet.  I want to keep learning from Christopher but I also want to go home and share everything I have gained from the experience.  With that being said, I have set some concluding goals for myself to complete before I leave.  Since I have more recently been working on the small "collection" I sketched out and began making pieces (so far the top and mod dress), I really wanted to continue on that track to see it come to life.  I had chose specific pieces from the looks that I would physically complete.  These include: skirt, leggings, sweater and possible bag.  Over the weekend I picked up the necessary patterns.  I had already bought material from S.R. Harris that would be used for the collection.

The skirt above would be done in pattern type E using the same material as the tunic top currently in progress at the studio.

The pieces form in panels giving this "straight" skirt a new look.

These leggings are very basic but will be made from the same material as the mod style dress made previously.

I could not find the exact "cocoon" style sweater pattern, so instead I went with the look below:

I will be utilizing pattern D to accomplish this.  It has the added button at the top but can be worn open just as well.

The button has a pearl sheen to them which makes for a perfect fit for the collection overall since my theme was based upon my pearl ring.

Today was spent cutting out the correct size out of the patterns and then cutting into material.  They are all ready to go for the studio tomorrow!

I will have pictures up of my new top by then as well:)
